Finding records by using full-text search

If full-text search is enabled on the HCL Compass Web server, you can use this feature to find records in the user database.

1. In the Search section of the HCL Compass Web interface, type a query in the Search field and select Full Text .
   See Lucene query terminology and syntax for information on using the rich search syntax provided by the underlying Lucene search engine.
2. Optional: Expand the Search Scope list and select one or more record types to narrow the search scope.
3. Click Search.
   The result set appears in the right pane. Notice that the result set is sorted by the relevance score. You can change the relevance score of records that appear in the result set by boosting a term in your search expression.
