Using certificates from a commercial certificate authority

You will probably want to use a certificate from a commercial certificate authority if your HCL Compass users span multiple organizations.

About this task

HCL Compass supports certificates from a variety of commercial certificate authorities. Perform the following steps to see the list of supported commercial certificate authorities or to add support for a new commercial certificate authority.

Procedure

  1. If the iKeyman utility is not open, open it by navigating to the \HCL\HTTPServer\bin directory and double-clicking ikeyman.bat.
  2. Click Key Database File > Open.
    1. Enter the name of the key database file. Click OK.
    2. Enter the password for the key database file. Click OK.
  3. In the Key database content area, select Signer Certificates from the list.

What to do next

To use a commercial certificate authority that is not in the list, use the iKeyman utility to add support for the signer certificate from that certificate authority.
