Permission-granting model

Workspace folder permissions are based on a model of granted permissions.

To deny access to a folder, the No-Access permission is granted to a user group for the folder.

The default permission on the Public Queries folder is Read-Only. This permission applies to the Everyone group, to which every user belongs. For most users, the Read-Only permission is sufficient. They can see and run any query, report, or chart, but cannot modify, delete, or add items to a folder in the Public Queries workspace.

For users who need to add items to or modify items in the Public Queries workspace, the security administrator or appropriate Public Folder administrator can modify the permissions applied to a folder for the users' groups.
