Unsubscribing users and groups from databases

You can deny a user or user group access to a database by removing their subscription to that database. This involves both removing their individual user subscription and removing the user from all groups that are subscribed to the database.

About this task

A user who is a member of a group that is subscribed to a database inherits subscription membership even if the user is unsubscribed from the database. To unsubscribe a user from a database, you must remove the user from all the groups that are subscribed to the database.

Procedure

  1. In the Designer, click File > User Administration.
  2. In the User Administration window, click DB Action > Unsubscribe.
  3. In the Unsubscribe window, select the users or user groups and clear the databases to which you want to deny access.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Add this information to the user database. In the User Administration window, click DB Action > Upgrade and click OK in the Upgrade window.
