Configuring the HCL Compass Web client for container authentication

Configure the HCL Compass Web client for container authentication.

About this task

The following variables are used in path names:
WAShome
Directory where WebSphere® Application Server is installed
cqwebProfile
Name of the HCL Compass Web profile

Procedure

  1. Edit the HCL Compass Web server container authentication properties file, sso.properties, which is in the following directory:
    Windows
    WAShome\profiles\cqwebProfile\installedApps\dfltCell\TeamEAR.ear\cqweb.war\WEB-INF\classes\sso.properties
    Note: Solaris If HCL Compass is installed on the Solaris operating system, the default WebSphere Application Server cell directory is <srv>Node01Cell. Use this value in place of dfltCell, which is the default directory on Windows™, UNIX™, and Linux™ systems.
  2. Change the SSO_CLIENT_ENABLE setting to true:
    SSO_CLIENT_ENABLE=true
  3. Copy the encrypted password that you created in the previous topic, Configuring CM Server for container authentication, and paste it as the value for SSO_CLIENT_PASSWORD:
    SSO_CLIENT_PASSWORD=password_generated_by_running_cqrpc
    For example:
    SSO_CLIENT_PASSWORD=FIPS955f13dbb44386be99d855ae73081e26cd4c03017793936fc746bfc12b03caaa5a1057d415b9ef51f501e8938c9456da1ca4bd1888921e64c29d2cb6ea619f1fb3d07b8b2b6de4030fe0f00a11f39d7c2a4b0766355f81dabb1eba7ba285e8fa50951b9df5a887b2c2e1fdfb5bc2d27ab20ba8cc6c2e8e0964559f72635788783896ca178d2b314934fe316efa34a2025ab84fc3c1b8bdb3ce0cabbddccab224258024bb5defda026c85e5d5e743eff4
  4. Change the SSO_LOGIN_MODE setting to REQUEST:
    SSO_LOGIN_MODE=REQUEST

    This setting enables the HCL Compass Web client to find the user name authenticated by WebSphere Application Server.

  5. Save the modified sso.properties file:
    1. Change to the working directory where the updated sso.properties file is located.
    2. Start the WebSphere Application Server wsadmin utility in a command window:
      Windows
      "WAShome\profiles\cqwebProfile\bin\wsadmin"
      UNIX Linux
      WAShome/profiles/cqwebProfile/bin/wsadmin
    3. Run the following commands:

      wsadmin> $AdminApp update TeamEAR file {-operation update -contents updated_sso.properties -contenturi cqweb.war/WEB-INF/classes/sso.properties}

      wsadmin> $AdminConfig save

      wsadmin> exit

  6. Restart the WebSphere Application Server to activate the changes to the sso.properties file.
