Security Options page

Use the Security Option page of the Site Configuration window to configure security options for the HCL Compass Web application.

Settings on the Security Option page take effect immediately; there is no need to restart the server. However, only subsequent HCL Compass Web application sessions reflect these changes. Existing web application sessions continue to use the settings that were in effect when the sessions started.

Restrict Site If selected, all users run in restricted mode when accessing the web site. This selection overrides any specifications in the Restricted Users and Restricted User Groups options, described next.

If cleared, all users can access the web site, subject to the restrictions specified in the remaining options on the page.

Restricted Users Users specified in this field can only access the web site in restricted mode.
Important: User names are case sensitive and must match those specified in the User Administration tool.

If no names are specified, all users can access this site, subject to the settings of the Restrict Site and Restricted User Groups options.

Restricted User groups Users who are a member of a user group specified in this field can only access the web site in restricted mode.
Important: User-group names are case sensitive and must match those specified in the User Administration tool.

If no groups are specified, all members of all groups can access this site, subject to the settings of the Restrict Site and Restricted Users options.

Restricted Query If a query is specified, users who are running in restricted mode can access only this query, unless Allow Workspace Access When Restricted is also selected. When Allow Workspace Access When Restricted is also selected, the query specified in this field is overwritten.

To specify a query, use the path to the query relative to the underlying schema workspace (for example, Public Queries/My Defects).

If no query is specified, users running in restricted mode have no queries available.

Allow Find Record When Restricted If selected, users who are running in restricted mode can use the By ID search feature to access records.

If cleared, the By ID search selection for users who are running in restricted mode is disabled.

Allow Modify Record When Restricted If selected, users who are running in restricted mode can use the Modify button on the toolbar to modify records.

If cleared, users running in restricted mode cannot see the Modify button.

Allow Workspace When Restricted If selected, the Restricted Query option is disabled and users can see the entire workspace. Use this option in conjunction with setting up workspace folder security policies. cleared
Allow Modify User Profile When Restricted If selected, users who are running in restricted mode can modify their user profile.

If cleared, users who are running in restricted mode cannot modify their user profile.

Disable Persistent Cookies

If selected, storing persistent cookies on client computers is disabled.

Important: Disabling persistent cookies does not remove cookies that are stored on client computers. These cookies remain until they expire or are removed manually.

Allow REST calls for XML/ATOM If selected, the HCL Compass Web application allows REST calls to retrieve change-request data.

If cleared, the HCL Compass Web application does not allow REST calls to retrieve change-request data.
