Running a query in the workspace

You can run any query in your Personal Queries folder or the Public Queries folder.

To run a query in the workspace:

Procedure

  1. Locate the query in the workspace and perform one of the following actions:
    • Double-click the query.
    • Select the query, right-click it, and select Run.
    • Select the query and clickRun Query on the HCL Compass Toolbar.
    • Select the query and click Query > Run.
  2. If the query has one or more dynamic filters, you are prompted to define the filter criteria.
    If you do not define these criteria, the filter is ignored when you run the query.

Results

The query results appear on the Result set page of the Query window, formatted according to the result-set display specifications. Click a record in the result-set grid to view it in the record form below.

Databases that containing change request and defect information can change frequently. To rerun a query and update the result-set grid, click Run Query on theHCL Compass toolbar.

New records with security context that are created after you establish your database connection are not visible in your current session. The records visible in a user session are determined by the security settings in effect at login time. To view a new record with security context, you must refresh your database connection by closing the current database session and establishing a new one.
