Modifying field properties

You can modify some field properties in Properties window. Other properties must be modified directly from the Fields grid.

About this task

You cannot modify the field data type or DB Column Name after you check in the schema. For fields whose type is SHORT_STRING, you cannot modify the Maximum Length property. To change any of these properties, you must delete the field and create a new field with similar properties.

Procedure

To modify field properties in the Properties window:
  1. Start the Designer.
  2. In the Schema Repository Explorer view, expand the Record Types or Record Types - Stateless folder, and double-click on a record type.
    The record type editor opens.
  3. Click the Fields tab to view the Record Fields grid.
  4. Right-click on a field and click Show Properties.
  5. Use the properties page to modify the properties of the field.
