In this lesson, you create three sales catalogs:
a main sales catalog, a holiday sales catalog, and a spring fever
sales catalog.
When you are creating the catalogs, you
assign each catalog a unique code identifier; remember this code as
it is used in later steps. WebSphere Commerce uses these code identifiers
to create URLs that reference each sales catalog. With the separate
URLs, you can set up a store to direct a shopper to a specific sales
catalog. With this set up, all remaining store pages display that
sales catalog until a new sales catalog is specified by using another
URL reference.
Procedure
- Start WebSphere Commerce
Developer
- Open the Catalogs tool.
Select your stater store from the Select Store list.
- From the explorer filter, select Sales
Catalog Categories.
- Click .
The New
Sales Catalog properties view displays.
- Expand the General Catalog Information section.
Enter the following information to create a new sales catalog:

the sales catalog code. Do not include any spaces. |

The name of the sales catalog. Enter Main Sales
Catalog for the sales catalog name. |

Long description |
A long description of the sales catalog; enter Main
sales catalog for the sales catalog long description. |
Do not enter any value in other fields for this tutorial.
- Click Save; then
click
Close.
The new catalog displays in the list of available catalogs.
- Add catalog entries to your new sales catalog by copying
catalog entries from your starter store master catalog. For more information,
- In the explorer view, navigate to the MainSalesCatalog sales
catalog. Right-click the sales catalog. Click New Sales
Category
The New Sales Category properties

- Expand the General Catalog Information section.
Enter the information for the category.

information as the values for your new category properties:

- Click Save; then

- In the explorer view, click the MainSalesCategory sales
category.

Entries List displays.

Search for the catalog entry you want to add, click to open the utilities view.
- Drag all of the catalog entries that you want in your
category into the Catalog Entries List.
- Click the Save icon.
- Repeat steps 4 - 6 to create the Holiday and Spring
Fever sales catalogs. Use the following information to
replace the MainSalesCatalog information:
