Virtualization

Using virtualized computers saves the cost of hardware, management, and administration of the server infrastructure.

You can deploy and configure a management extender plug-in for VMware. You can then manage VMware virtual machines from within BigFix the console.

Renaming a snapshot
Using the Rename Snapshot Task, you can rename a snapshot of a virtual machine from the IBM® BigFix console.

Renaming a snapshot

Using the Rename Snapshot Task, you can rename a snapshot of a virtual machine from the IBM® BigFix console.

Before you begin

You must have at least one snapshot of a VMware virtual machine.

Complete the following steps to rename a snapshot.

Open the Automation domain.
From the navigation tree in the Automation domain, click Virtualization > Virtual Machine Management > Snapshot Configuration.
From the Snapshot Configuration list, select Rename Snapshot.
In the Task: Rename Snapshot window, click Take Action.
In the Action Parameter window, enter the name of the snapshot that you want to rename and click OK.
In the Action Parameter window, enter the new snapshot name and click OK.
From the Computer Name list, target the virtual machine of which the snapshot was taken and click OK

When the snapshot is renamed, the Status changes to Completed in the Action: Rename Snapshot window.
