BigFix Remote Control Target for macOS V10 Update 7
Remote Control Version 10 Update 7 introduces Managed Session mode support for Remote Control Target on macOS devices. This version of macOS targets support the full set of Remote Control session capabilities Managed, Peer-to-Peer, Unattended and On-Demand. The previous versions of Remote Control Target for macOS were only able to support Peer to Peer and On-Demand session modes.
There are some noticeable differences with the previous version of Remote Control Target for macOS. The first is that the new target runs as a third-party system daemon, hence it is no longer needed for the user to start the target manually. Another difference is that the target is now capable to register with the Remote Control Server and support managed session mode. When using this session mode the security settings and session behavior is determined by session policies as defined on the Remote Control Server.
For a description of this interface refer to the chapter #4 – The target interface.
To terminate a connection form the target site clik on the Connection Status Icon.
After you install the BigFix® Remote Control Target for macOS Update 7 the application is started automatically and the target status icon is displayed in the menu bar at the top of the screen. The old Remote Control target icon that may remain visible on the Dock after the upgrade is no longer used and can be removed by clicking on the icon and selecting Options -> Remove from Dock.
When a controller is connected to your computer in a remote control session, the status icon on the menu bar is displayed in red color. The icon is displayed in blue color when there are no active sessions.
