Theme |
Select whether the AppScan interface uses a dark or light background. |

Language |
Select the user interface language here. After changing this setting you will need to close and reopen AppScan for the change to take effect. |

Recording and viewing browser |
Select the default browser that will be used so show the Starting URL, and to browse when exploring manually. Options include the embedded AppScan Chromium browser, as well as other "external" browsers that are installed on your machine. |

Check for updates on startup |
Enable this option to automatically check for updates every time AppScan starts. Keeping AppScan updated ensures that you have the latest features and security patches. | |
Automatically save during scan | Enable this option to have AppScan automatically save your work at regular intervals in minutes (1 -600) during a scan. This ensures that any progress made is not lost in case of unexpected interruptions. | |

Use online version (recommended) |
The online version is recommended because it may have additional updates since the version was released. |

Select offline only if you will be using AppScan without an Internet connection. |

File and folder locations |

Template and scan file folder |
Shows the current location of the folder to which your scan and template files are saved. Click Browse to select a different location. |

Log file folder |
Shows the current location of the folder to which logs are saved. Click Browse to select a different location. |

Noise classification file |
Shows the location and name of your current Noise classification XML file. Your noise classifications are saved here and applied to all scans run on this machine. Learn more about noise. You can select a different file to import noise classifications from another machine. |

Vulnerable component database |

AppScan announces updates to the vulnerable components database through AppScan News. If you download the latest version from HCL FlexNet Operations Portal, you must import it here to update the vulnerable component database. Once the import is successful, you can run a scan to observe the updated results. |
