Manual exploring enables you to explore specific parts of your application, filling in fields and forms as you go. This can be a way of ensuring that particular areas of the site are covered, and that AppScan has the information needed to complete forms correctly.

  Optimizing scan times is a continuous process of refinement. After you verify scan coverage and identify factors that may be increasing scan times, refer to the sections in this document for strategies that can help shorten scan duration and improve scan efficiency.

  Add domains that AppScan discovers but does not explore to your scan scope so they can be crawled and tested. Review the list of unexplored domains and include the ones you want in the configuration to ensure they are covered in subsequent scans.
- Exporting scan results
Data
Data view is populated with information about the structure of the site during the Explore stage of the scan.
Issues
Issues view provides access to the results of a scan. You can view results at a high level or select specific tests or objects and access more details. These details include how to fix, requests/responses, and differences between the test variants that resulted in issues. You can manipulate the severity of issues, resend tests (with or without modifications), and create reports based on Issues.

Scan progress

When a scan begins, the Progress panel appears below the Result list.

This shows:

Current® URL being explored or tested.
Percentage completed of the Explore or Test stage.
If this is a subsequent scan phase, the current phase number (see Automatic multiphase scanning).
Amount of time (mm:ss or hh:mm:ss or dd:hh:mm:ss) since the scan began.

If the scan is stopped, either due to communication issues or by your request, the scan status is updated accordingly. It shows:

Communication issues and timeout before automatic resume.
Notification that scan is incomplete.
"More Information" link, which opens a dialog box explaining what has been done so far and how to continue.

If you choose to recover the scan, AppScan resumes from the last saved scan state. Depending on the information that was saved, the scan may continue using a broader mode, such as a Full Scan.
