Using the Static Analyzer Command Line Utility
The Static Analyzer Command Line Utility (SAClientUtil) is used to generate an IRX that can be scanned in a AppScan on Cloud or AppScan 360°. The appscan.sh prepare command is supported for use with AppScan 360° Static Analysis.

Installing plugins for use with the Static Analyzer Command Line Utility

This task describes how to install IDE plugins for use with the Static Analyzer Command Line Utility.

About this task

To use the Eclipse or Visual Studio plugins, you must first download the plugins from their respective marketplaces and install them.

Eclipse

To install the Eclipse plugin for the Static Analyzer Command Line Utility:

In Eclipse, select Help > Eclipse Marketplace….
In the resulting window, search for Application Security.
Click Browse for more solutions at the bottom of the window.
Select and install the HCL AppScan 360° plugin.

Visual Studio

To install the Visual Studio plugin for the Static Analyzer Command Line Utility:

In Visual Studio, access extensions options:
- In Visual Studio 2017 and earlier, select Tools > Extensions and Updates.
- In Visual Studio 2019, select Extensions > Manage Extensions.
Select Online from the list.
Search for HCL.
Select and install the HCL AppScan 360° plugin.
