Adding Annotations to Browser-based Replay

To add an annotation to Browser-based replay pages, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. On the BBR page, select the page for which you want to add annotations.
  2. Click Annotation.
    A dialog box appears.
  3. In the dialog box, enter the annotation text.

Results

In the Replay view, if the annotation is closed, the annotation appears as a yellow window or a yellow icon. The open state is saved with the annotation and is restored on subsequent loads of the session data.

In the Viewable Pages list, you can identify pages that contain annotations by looking for columns having the yellow icon.

After adding, editing, or deleting an annotation, the session is queued for re-indexing. When the session is re-indexed, changes to its annotations will be available for search.

If multiple changes are made to a single session, each change is queued. The indexer may also re-index all changes at the same time.

Note:
  • When annotation changes are saved, depending on the length of the queue, it may take a few minutes before the changes are available for search in the completed sessions.
  • Since annotations must be indexed for search, you cannot search for annotations in active sessions.
