Configuring the Manage Services Server
If needed, you can make changes to the configuration for the master Discover Management System server.
About this task
To access the Manage Services Server configuration:
Procedure
- Login to the Portal as an admin user.
- From the Portal menu, select Discover > Manage Services.
- Expand the Discover Management Server node.
- Click Discover Management Server configuration.
- In the Config Actions panel, click View/Edit.
- The following settings are available for review and editing:
Note: If you modify the Manage Services server configuration and then submit a job to restart the service, you may see an error message in the Portal while the Manage Services service restarts. After Manage Services completes its restart, refresh the page in your browser to continue.Note: These settings are defined during installation and rarely need to be changed.

- Setting configures the desired level of logging verbosity for Manage Services. Note: Use log level
Debug
only for debugging issues related to Manage Services. Master Port
- Port number for master Manage Services server. Default value is
20000
. Master Manage Services Server
- Server hosting the master instance of Manage Services. Note: Discover recommends that the Manage Services master server be set to the same server that hosts the Portal application, which reduces communication overhead and other issues. If you are installing on the Portal Server, please set this value to
localhost
.Note: When specifying the Manage Services master server, use a DNS-resolvable name that all Discover servers can resolve. Do not use a fully qualified name.
