Managing your workspaces

The workspace is the canvas on which you can place, design and connect your workflows.

You can use workspaces to organize different projects. Each workspace is a self-contained environment, which lets you start a new design session without clearing the canvas. You can return to a specific process at any time. Save your assets to the database, or keep them on the canvas until you click Deploy.
Workspaces management
To get started with workspaces, open the My workspaces page on the UI by clicking Design. The My workspaces page is the central hub for the management of your workspaces.
Click New workspace to create a workspace. To manage existing workspaces, use the search bar to find a specific one, or sort them by name or modification time. After you select one or more workspaces, you can perform the following actions:
  • Duplicate
  • Export
  • Delete

To perform these actions on an individual workspace, click the three-dot menu on its card. From this menu, you can also select Rename.

Exporting
You can export workspaces to save them and import them later to continue your work. Export a workspace from the My workspaces page or directly from the canvas. The available export formats are:
  • JSON
  • YAML
  • Scheduling language
From the workspace canvas, you can also save the workspace visuals as PNG files.
Note: You can export workspace definitions from a workspace containing errors. When importing these definitions, the errors are retained.
Importing
When you import a workspace, the import process checks the definitions against your assets list and performs the following actions:
  • Adds new definitions to your workspace and marks them with a green dot.
  • Marks definitions that conflict with existing ones with an orange dot.
Note: Imported definitions override existing definitions.
Deleting
Deleted workspaces are moved to the Trash page. To restore a workspace, select it and click Restore. To permanently remove items you have two options:
  • Select one or more workspaces and click Delete forever.
  • Click Empty trash to remove all workspaces.
Workspace navigation
The workspace offers a flexible navigation system. You can pan freely across the canvas, zoom in and out, and use the fit-to-screen feature to adjust the view to see all your blocks and assets at the same time. A mini-map provides an overview of the entire workspace, highlighting the current visible area.
Saving a workspace
The items you defined in a workspace can be saved to the database by selecting Deploy. If you close the Graphical Designer page before deploying a workspace, you can continue to edit your workflows when you log in again, but changes are not saved in the database until you complete the deployment.
Note: After the successful deployment of a workspace, you are prompted to decide if you want to delete it. Deleting a deployed workspace clears the canvas, and all the items previously defined in the workspace are saved to the database and can be used in future workspaces.
