IIS Changes to Enable NT Authentication in Portal

Complete the following steps to make the necessary changes in IIS to enable NT Authentication in Portal:

Procedure

  1. Note: Use Administrator credentials to make the following changes on server 2 (for notations, see Microsoft Windows NT Login Configuration), which is the server having the Discover portal.
    On your Windows server (system), navigate to Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools.
  2. Double-click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
    The Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager panel opens.
  3. On the left of the panel, expand <Server Name> > Sites > Default Web Site.
  4. Select Portal and complete the following steps:
    1. On the right of the panel, double-click Authentication.
      The Authentication settings dialog opens.
    2. Change the values of the following fields to:
      • Windows Authentication: Enabled
  5. Select PortalAPI and complete the following steps:
    1. On the right of the panel, double-click Authentication.
      The Authentication settings dialog opens.
    2. Change the values of the following fields to:
      • Windows Authentication: Enabled
      • Anonymous Authentication: Enabled
  6. Select PortalV1 and complete the following steps:
    1. On the right of the panel, double-click Authentication.
      The Authentication settings dialog opens.
    2. Change the values of the following fields to:
      • Windows Authentication: Enabled
      • Anonymous Authentication: Enabled

Reset IIS and restart all Discover services.
