Installation, Deployment, and Upgrade

Configuring HCL Discover involves setting up and managing Discover user authorization and configuring Discover server components and services that process captured data.

Administering HCL Discover involves configuring and integrating the HCL Discover client framework with your web applications or mobile native applications, installing and administering the databases used by HCL Discover, defining event objects and configuring events, hit attributes, dimensions, and other object attributes used by HCL Discover to monitor mission-critical metrics of your web application's performance.

New Features in 12.2.1

The following list contains the new features or changes in functionalities made to HCL Discover in version 12.2.1.


Feature	Description
PostgreSQL Support	Introduced support to integrate and use PostgreSQL datacontext and related changes in Portal V2 API. Currently, PostgreSQL support is only available for new installation and is not supported for upgrade from 12.2.0 or from earlier versions. Note: When using Discover on a setup with PostgreSQL server, you must not use StatsLogger and PAStatsLogger in pipelines. On a distributed setup of Discover, ensure that StatsLogger and PAStatsLogger are removed from all pipelines.
NT Authentication	Reintroduced Microsoft Windows NT Authentication support which includes API support and Angular support.
MaxAI Fix	In the previous release (12.2.0), MaxAI required Unica Platform for authentication. In this release HCL Discover has removed the dependency of Unica Platform for authentication and allows credentials and settings to be passed through a request from Discover.
