The HCL VersionVault integration with Cadence Virtuoso
The HCL VersionVault-Cadence integration supports a number of commands (data management operations, such as check-in and check-out) and features (such as the Configuration Specification editor and the Work Area Manager).
Integrating VersionVault with Cadence Virtuoso
Before you set up the HCL VersionVault integration with Cadence Virtuoso, review the following information.

        Before you set up the HCL VersionVault integration with Cadence Virtuoso, review the following information.
        Starting the user interface
        You start the user interface through the Cadence Library Manager.

        The HCL VersionVault integration with Cadence schematic, layout, and other such design editors is referred to as cellview editors (CVEs). Version information, which is displayed on the cellview editor's title bar, includes the current design management (DM) state and the version of the design artifacts that are loaded in the work area.

Starting the user interface

You start the user interface through the Cadence Library Manager.

Procedure

Depending on what you want to browse, complete one of these steps to start the user interface:

To browse the list of all version-controlled libraries:
1. Open the Design Manager menu.
2. Select VersionVault WA Manager.
  The VersionVault Work Area Manager opens, and lists the version-controlled libraries.
To browse the design hierarchy of a single cellview:
1. In the Library Manager, select the cellview, and right-click to open the menu.
2. Select Browse hierarchy to open the design hierarchy browser for the selected cellview.
To browse a single library:
1. In the Library Manager, select the library, and right-click to open the menu.
2. Select Browse library to browse only that library.
