View Tag Browser
Use the View Tag Browser to create, start, or modify a dynamic or snapshot view and perform view-related functions. (Starting a dynamic view is different from setting a view.) The View Tag Browser supports the following menus:
The View Tag Browser lists view tags, state, global path, and comments for all views on the registry server host, even if the views are not active on your workstation.
View menu
The View menu contains commands for controlling dynamic views.
- Describe
- Lists view registry entries.
- Set
- Creates a process that is set to a dynamic view.
- Start
- Starts or connects to a dynamic view view_server process.
- Stop
- Stops the selected view.
- Create
- Creates and registers a view.
- Destroy
- Removes a view.
- List Private
- Lists objects in a dynamic view private storage area.
- List views on host
- Lists view registry entries for views on the current workstation.
- List views matching pattern
- Lists view registry entries for view tags specified with pattern matching characters.
- Cleanup
- For a single VOB that you select or for all VOBs, lists view-private objects and optionally derived objects and allows you to select and delete them.
ConfigSpec menu
The ConfigSpec menu contains commands for managing your config specs.
- Display
- Lists the config spec of a view.
- Edit
- Modifies the config spec of a view.
- Set default
- Resets the config spec of a view to the contents of default_config_spec, the host default config spec.
- Set
- Changes the current config spec or forces the config spec to be reevaluated.
- Save
- Stores the contents of your config spec under a specific file name.
Admin menu
The Admin menu contains the commands for performing HCL VersionVault administrative functions on a view. For more information, see the Help.
- Repairs (reformats) a view database (and, for a dynamic view, the associated private storage area) for the selected view or current view.
- Moves stranded view-private files from a specified VOB to the lost+found directory.
- Moves stranded view-private files from the specified directory to the lost+found directory.
- Reformat
- Updates the format of a view database.
- For a selected tag, displays a full, long listing of view properties.
- Creates an entry in the view_object registry.
- Replaces an existing registry entry
- Creates an entry in the view registry with non-default paths.
- Creates an entry in the view registry with non-default paths, replacing an existing entry.
- Removes an entry from the view_object registry.
- Removes an entry for a view storage directory from the view_object registry by specifying the object UUID.
- Creates in the registry a tag for a view.
- Deletes from the registry a tag for a view.
