Adding links to zones in communications
In the Message Editor, use the Hyperlink widget to
configure hyperlinks in zones that are contained in message and landing page communications. The
Hyperlink widget displays in the widget toolbar at the top of a message or landing page
communication.
About this task
The Hyperlink widget contains the Body tab and the Link tab. Use the Body tab to specify the appearance of the link in the message or landing page. Use the Link tab to specify the link target page and to specify how the target page displays to the message recipient or landing page visitor.
Procedure

Drag the Hyperlink widget
into a zone or right-click in the zone and select Add content > Hyperlink. The New Hyperlink window displays. The window contains the Body tab and the Link tab.

On the Body tab, specify what displays in the message or landing page communication.
Text Enter text that displays the link as a text link.
External image Display the link as an image. Enter the URL of the location where the system can retrieve the image when you publish the communication.
Content Specify an asset in the Content Library to display as the body of the link. You can specify an image, HTML snippet, or text block.

To configure the link differently than the format specified in the communication template,
clear Use formatting from template.
In the Formatting Options section, you can specify the custom attributes to apply to the body of the link.

On the Link tab, specify the target of the link.
View as Web Page Select to create a link that displays an email message as a web page
URL Enter the URL of the web page that is the destination of the link.
Landing Page Specify a page that is hosted by HCL for your hosted messaging account.
By default, the target of the link opens in the same frame. Configure the target attribute to specify a different way to open the link target.

To specify how the link target opens, clear Use formatting from
template. In the Link Attributes Formatting section, specify a value in the Link Target
field.
_self Open in the same frame. This option is the default. _blank Open in a new window or tab. _parent Open in the parent frame _top Open in the full body of the window framename Enter the name of a frame that you create to display the target. Note: The other formatting attributes on the Link tab are the same as the attributes on the Body tab. - To configure more attributes, click Add/Edit Advanced Formatting.
- Click OK to add the link to the communication.
