Uninstalling a WebSphere-based Sametime server on Linux or Windows
Servers installed with deployment plans require a different process for uninstallation than Sametime® Gateway.

What to do next
During uninstallation, the server is unregistered from the Sametime System Console and the WebSphere Application Server profile removed.
Important:
If you receive an error during the uninstallation process or you are unable to complete it, DO NOT clean out or delete any of the WebSphere or Sametime product directories
until you have manually unregistered the Sametime Proxy Server, Media
Manager, Meeting Server or Advanced Server according to what you are
uninstalling. Only clean out the unused directories if your uninstallation process worked correctly.
If you receive an error during the uninstallation process, refer to the following troubleshooting topics for instructions on manually completing the uninstallation process:
- Manually removing WebSphere Application Server
- Unregistering a Sametime Proxy Server, Media Manager, Meeting Server, or Sametime Advanced Server
- Updating the Sametime System Console when server unregistration fails
After you have successfully uninstalled the Sametime server, verify that the Enterprise
Applications related to that server were removed by completing the following steps:
- Log in to the WebSphere Integrated Console as the WebSphere administrator.
- Click .
- Verify that no applications related to the Sametime server are listed.For example, if you uninstalled a Sametime Proxy Server, the following applications were removed and should no longer appear in the list:
- IBM-Help_3_6_2.war
- SSCConnecter.ear
- SametimeProxy
- ivtApp
- query
- If any of the Sametime-related applications is still listed, remove it manually by selecting the application and clicking Uninstall.
