Manually removing WebSphere Application Server
Remove WebSphere® Application Server manually if it remains on the system after Sametime® fails to install or uninstall completely.
Before you begin
- Log in to the Integrated Solutions Console on the Deployment Manager and stop the node agent for the server (or servers if you are working in a cluster).
- Stop the Sametime server.
- Stop WebSphere Application Server.
- Stop the Deployment Manager.
- Close all browsers and command windows that are accessing the server you plan to uninstall.
About this task
Windows™
- From the Microsoft™ Windows Start menu, select .
- Select IBM WebSphere Application Server from the list and click Add/Remove. Click Yes when prompted to remove the server.
- When the Windows uninstall program completes, click OK to exit the uninstall program.
- Delete the WebSphere Application Server installation directory (for example, C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere).
AIX®, Linux™
- Go to the WebSphere Application Server installation root folder (for example, /opt/IBM/WebSphere/Appserver).
- Navigate to the uninstall folder.
- Run the uninstall command:
./uninstall
- After uninstallation completes, delete the WebSphere Application Server installation directory (for example, /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer).
