Run the install script to set up the IBM® Sametime® Meeting
Server on IBM i. The Sametime Base Meeting Server
and the Sametime Meeting
Document Converter Server are supported on IBM i. Install each server
individually.
Procedure
- On the computer where you will install Sametime Base Meeting Server,
log on as user with the *ALLOBJ and *SECADM authorities.
- Find the
software packages you need to download.
- Download
the packages.
- Extract all downloaded packages.
- Install IBM Installation Manager.

Install IBM
WebSphere Network Deployment.
- From an IBM i command
line, run the WRKSYSVAL to check the setting
for QVFYOBJRST; make sure it is set to
3 or less. If you need to change the value, complete these steps:
- Type option 2 before the QVFYOBJRST system
value, and press enter to change the value.
- Change the value to 3, and then press Enter.
- From an IBM i command
line, run the following command to start the QShell Interpreter:
QSH
- Configure WebSphere Application
Server to use 64 bits by completing the following steps:
- Run the
cd
shell command to change
to the bin
directory of the WebSphere Application Server program installation
directory; for example:cd /QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V855/bin
- Run the following commands to set up WebSphere Application Server using 64 bit:
managesdk -setNewProfileDefault -sdkname 1.7_64
managesdk -setCommandDefault -sdkname 1.7_64
- Run the
cd
shell command to change to
the Installation Manager /tools directory; for
example:cd /QIBM/ProdData/InstallationManager/eclipse/tools
- Run the following command to start Installation Manager
and install the Sametime Base
Meeting Server:
./imcl input /path_and_name of IMS_ssc_i.rsp -log /log_path/log_name -acceptLicense
For
example, enter
./imcl input /ST9build/Meeting/IMS_ssc_i.rsp -log /st9/logs/Meetinginstall -acceptLicense
When the installation finishes, a summary of the results
is displayed.
- When the script completes, press F3 to
exit QSH.
Results
If the installation fails, review the installation logs
stored in /QIBM/UserData/InstallationManager/logs for
information about the failure. Fix the problem, and then install again.
The
log name contains the date and time in this format: yyyymmdd_hhmm.xml.
