Enabling security on a stand-alone Bandwidth Manager
Set administrative security for the IBM WebSphere® Application Server.
Procedure
- On the server where Sametime® Bandwidth Manager is installed, open the WebSphere Integrated Solutions Console.
- In the navigation tree, click Security > Global security.
- On the Global security page, look in the "Available realm definitions" section and select Federated Repositories, then click Configure.
- (Optional) Change the realm name to "LdapRealm".
- Create an administrator account for WebSphere Application
Server:
- Enter the primary administrator user name, and then click OK.
- Enter the primary administrator password, and then click OK.
- Save this change to the master configuration by clicking Save in the "Messages" box at the beginning of the page.
- If you are setting up a stand-alone Bandwidth manager,
skip this step.
If you are setting up a cluster, complete the following steps:
- Stop the deployment manager.
- Start the deployment manager.
- Synchronize the nodes.as described in Synchronizing and restarting nodes in the Bandwidth Manager cluster.
- Restart the cluster.
- Open the WebSphere Integrated Solutions Console and log in as the WebSphere administrator.
- In the navigation tree, click Security > Global security.
- On the Global security page, select Federated Repositories again, and click Set as current.
- Save this change to the master configuration by clicking Save in the "Messages" box at the beginning of the page.
- On the Global security page, select Enable
administrative security.Attention: Do not select Use Java 2 security to restrict application access to local resources.
- Save this change to the master configuration by clicking Save in the "Messages" box at the beginning of the page.
- Restart the Bandwidth Manager server to put the changes into effect.
