Use IBM® Installation
Manager to install IBM Sametime® Media Manager's
SIP Proxy/Registrar and Conference Manager on the same computer. Installing
the two servers on the same computer requires you to create a specialized
deployment plan before using it to install each of the individual
servers. The combined servers cannot be clustered for high availability;
if you expect to require clustering in the future, you should install
the SIP Proxy/Registrar and the Conference Manager on separate computers.
About this task
If the Sametime Video
Manager is part of your configuration, be sure to install the Sametime Video Manager prior
to installing the combined PR+CF components.Tip: The Sametime SIP Proxy/Registrar
installation requires port 8073 to be available. If you have another
instance of WebSphere® Application
Server installed on the computer, it might be using port 8073 and
can cause a conflict that prevents installation of the SIP Proxy/Registrar.
To avoid this problem, temporarily rename the \WebSphere directory
for the instance that will not be used for the SIP Proxy/Registrar.
After the SIP Proxy/Registrar has been successfully installed, remember
to change the temporary directory name back to the original name.
