You can improve the quality of PDF document conversion by using the Ghostscript PostScript™ and PDF interpreter/renderer application. To use Ghostscript conversion, you must modify two configuration settings in the Sametime® System Console.
Ghostscript conversion is supported on Windows™ and Linux™ only; it is not supported on zLinux.

Procedure

On the Conversion Server, log in as root (Linux) or as the system administrator (Windows).

Download the Ghostscript Postscript and PDF interpreter/renderer.

Install the interpreter/renderer by running the file that you downloaded.
- Log in to the Integrated Solutions Console.
- Click .
- In the Sametime Meeting
Servers list, click the name of the meeting server that has the document
conversion role. This might be the base Sametime Meeting Server,
or a remote server that has been configured for document conversion.
- Click the Server Configuration tab, and then click Edit.
- Change the value of the configuration key
docshare.pdf.ghostscript
to true.
- Complete one of these steps according to whether you are
using a 32 bit or 64 bit environment:
- For the configuration key docshare.pdf.ghostscript.path,
in a 32 bit environment enter the directory path for the gswin32c directory
(Windows) or the gs directory
(Linux). Alternatively, you
can use the default path:
Windows
C:\Program Files (x86)\gs\gs9.04\bin\gswin32c
- For the configuration key docshare.pdf.ghostscript.path in
a 64 bit environment enter the directory path for the gswin64c directory,
use this path:
Windows
C:\Program Files\gs\gs9.16\bin\gswin64c.exe
- Click Apply.
Note: You
do not have to restart the server, but you might need to wait a few
minutes before uploading an improved PDF document to the meeting room.
