Disabling TLS on the SIP Proxy/Registrar component and Video Manager server
Disable TLS encryption for the communications handled by the IBM® Sametime® SIP Proxy/Registrar and the IBM Sametime Video Manager Server in a Sametime deployment.
About this task
Use the Sametime System Console to disable TLS (transport layer security) encryption through the Media Manager's administration page.
Procedure
- On the Sametime System Console, log in to the Integrated Solutions Console as the IBM WebSphere® administrator.

Navigate to the Sametime Media Manager's
administration pages by completing the following steps:
- On the Configuration page, locate the SIP proxy registrar
settings in the Server Integration section
and complete these steps:
- Change the Port to match the unsecured port (typically 5080) that you wrote down in Verifying the ports used by the Sametime Media Manager components.
- Change the Transport Protocol to TCP.
- In the Audio Video Media section, click Disable for the Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP) Encryption setting.
- Locate the VMGR Server settings in the Server Integration section and change the Port to match the unsecured port (typically 5060) that you wrote down in Verifying the ports used by the Sametime Media Manager components.
- Click OK.
- Restart the Conference Manager component’s server
or cluster:
- For a stand-alone Media Manager or Conference Manager, restart
it now as follows:
- In the server’s Integrated Solutions Console, click .
- In the list of servers, select your server and click the Restart button at the beginning of the table.
- Click the Refresh button and verify that all components are active.
- For a cluster of Conference Manager, synchronize and then
restart the nodes:
- In the Deployment Manager's Integrated Solutions Console, click .
- Select all nodes in the cluster, and then click the Full Resynchronize button at the beginning of the table.
- Back in the navigation tree, click .
- Select all nodes in the cluster, and then click the Restart button at the beginning of the table.
- For a stand-alone Media Manager or Conference Manager, restart
it now as follows:
