Synchronize the nodes in an IBM® WebSphere® Application Server
network deployment to update the Deployment Manager and nodes with
updated configuration information.
About this task
Stop and start the Deployment Manager, then synchronize
the nodes, and restart the cluster.
Procedure
- On the cluster's deployment manager, log in to the WebSphere Integrated Solutions
Console as the WebSphere administrator.
- Stop the Bandwidth Manager application servers, by entering
these commands on Node 2:
/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/BWMAppSrv02/bin
./stopServer.sh BWMserver2
on /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/BWMAppSrv02/bin
./stopNode.sh
- Stop the Bandwidth Manager application servers and the
deployment manager on Node one by entering these commands in the order
shown here:
/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/BWMAppSrv01/bin
./stopServer.sh BWMserver1
/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/BWMAppSrv01/bin
./stopNode.sh
/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/Dmgr01/bin
./stopManager.sh dmgr
- Stop the deployment manager:
- Click .
- Click the "Configuration" tab.
- On the Configuration tab of the deployment manager settings,
click Stop.
- Now start the deployment manager by completing these steps:
- Do one of these according to the platform you are using:
- Linux™: Open a command window
and navigate to the app_server_root/profiles/DeploymentManagerName/bin directory.
- Windows™: Open a command
window and navigate to the app_server_root\profiles\DeploymentManagerName\bin directory.
- Run the following command:
- Linux:
./startManager.sh
- Microsoft™ Windows:
startManager.bat
- Log in to the Integrated Solutions Console as the WebSphere administrator.
- Wait until the nodes have all started. Then follow these
steps to synchronize all the nodes:
- Click .
- Select all nodes in the cluster.
- Click Full Resynchronize.
- Restart all nodes in the cluster:
- Click .
- Click a node agent, and then click Restart (the
node agent should already be running).
- Wait until the nodes have all started before proceeding
to another task.
