Uninstalling
Removing the client does not remove your files. Files stay on the server, and the copies in your local sync folder stay on your computer — they simply stop being kept in step.
Before you uninstall
- Let synchronisation finish. Open the client and wait until it reports everything is up to date, so nothing is left waiting to upload.
- Quit the client from the tray menu.
Windows
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Find Domino Workspace Sync, open its ⋯ menu and choose Uninstall.
- Confirm the User Account Control prompt and follow the uninstaller.
- Sign out of Windows and back in so File Explorer releases the extension.
Your sync folder and your settings are left in place.
macOS
- Open the Applications folder.
- Drag Domino Workspace Sync to the Trash, and empty it.
- If the client is still listed under System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions, remove the entry.
Your sync folder and your settings are left in place.
Linux
Delete the AppImage file:
rm ~/Applications/DominoWorkspaceSync-*.AppImage
Then remove the launcher and autostart entry if you created them:
rm -f ~/.local/share/applications/dominoworkspacesync.desktop
rm -f ~/.config/autostart/dominoworkspacesync.desktop
Your sync folder and your settings are left in place.
Removing settings and cached data as well
Uninstalling deliberately keeps your configuration, so that reinstalling picks up where you left off. To remove it too, delete the configuration folder:
| Platform | Folder |
|---|---|
| Windows | %APPDATA%\Domino Workspace Sync\ |
| macOS | ~/Library/Preferences/Domino Workspace Sync/ |
| Linux | ~/.config/Domino Workspace Sync/ |
This folder holds your account list, ignore rules, sync databases and logs. Deleting it means the next installation starts from scratch.
The stored access token lives in your operating system's keychain — Windows Credential Manager, macOS Keychain Access, or your Linux keyring. Look for an entry named after Domino Workspace Sync and delete it to remove the last trace of the account from the computer.
Removing the local files
If you also want the local copies gone, delete the sync folder itself (DominoWorkspaceSync in your home directory unless you chose a different location) after uninstalling.
Delete it only once the client is uninstalled or the account is removed. If you delete the folder while the client is still running and connected, it treats the deletion as an intentional change and removes those files from the server as well.
