Joining a Domino Workspace meeting

To join a Domino Workspace meeting, you need a meeting link. The meeting link is sent from the meeting owner. Depending on how the meeting owner configured the meeting options, the steps to join a meeting vary.

The meeting link is in the following format.

https://*hostname*/meeting/*meeting name*

Depending on the meeting options, you might need to authenticate with your Domino Workspace Meeting credentials before you are allowed to join a meeting. If the meeting owner allowed for guests to join, no authentication is needed. Guest participants have limited Meetings features.

When you join a meeting, you can see the number of participants already in the meeting.

  1. Open the meeting link in a web browser. You can join a meeting by opening the meeting link sent to you in a web browser or from the Join an existing meeting dialogue. To join an existing meeting, you must know the meeting name.

  2. Ensure that your audio and video settings are configure for use within the meeting.

    MacOS users must perform additional steps to allow screen share. Refer to Screen sharing on MacOS for the details.

  3. Depending on how the meeting owner has configured the meeting, you might need to wait for the meeting to start before the Join meeting option is available. Conversely, you might also be given the option to start the meeting. Guests are not allowed to start a meeting and must wait for the meeting to start before joining.

    If the meeting is password protected, enter the meeting password.

  4. Set your video and audio for the meeting. Your video and audio are turned off when you enter a meeting.

    If you turned video on, you can select Change background to select a background.

  5. Joining an instant meeting
    Anyone with the meeting link can join an instant meeting.

  6. Joining an existing meeting
    You can join an existing meeting from the Meetings homepage.
  7. Inviting meeting participants by phone
    When the dial-out option is enabled, moderators can invite users to join a meeting by phone.
  8. Joining a meeting by phone
    When configured, you can dial in to a Domino Workspace meeting without a computer or internet connection.
