HCL Docs infrastructure for integration with other repositories
You can integrate HCL Docs with repositories outside of HCL Connections, such as IBM Content Navigator (ICN) or repositories that you integrate using API's.

In addition to the Document Format Conversion Application, Editor Application, and Editor Proxy components, the HCL Docs server infrastructure must also contain a database server (DB2®, Oracle, or SQL Server). In addition, an IBM Content Navigator infrastructure and an LDAP server must be installed and configured.

Medium-to-large deployments are used in test and production environments to achieve optimum scaling, load balancing, and failover, whereas imple deployments are used in a proof-of-concept environment to get up and running quickly.
