Exporting datapools
You can export a private
or public datapool to a .csv file.
About this task
When you export a datapool to a .csv file, the first row (record) of the .csv file contains the variable information associated with the datapool. When you import the .csv file, be sure to select the setting First Row is Variable Information. so that the data formats correctly.
You can export a HCL OneTest UI datapool to:
- Add data to a datapool using a spreadsheet application -- You can export a datapool to a .csv file and then use a spreadsheet application to add more data. After you finish adding data, you can then import the .csv file into a new Functional Test datapool.
- Use a datapool in a different Functional Test project -- Export a datapool to a .csv file and then import the data into a new datapool in a different Functional Test project.

- In the Script Explorer, select a private datapool you want to export, right-click the selected private datapool, and click Export.
- Under File, type a path and file name for the .csv file or click Browse to specify a different destination directory where you want to the new .csv file to go.
- Click the Field Separator arrow to select the type of field separator you want to use.
- Click Finish.
