If you want to use the Rational® TestManager
to manage your tests, you must associate a Functional Test project with
a Rational project.
Before you begin
You must
create
a Rational project using Rational Administrator before you associate
a Functional Test project with a Rational project so that TestManager
can gain access to the Functional Test project. When you create a Functional Test project, you can associate it with an existing Rational project at that time.
About this task
- You can only associate a Functional Test project with a Rational project
if it is currently not associated with any other project. To associate a project
with a different project, first you must disassociate the project from the
project to which it is currently associated.
- Information about a Functional Test project that you associate with
a Rational project
appears on the TestManager Properties page for the Functional Test project.
To associate an existing functional Test project with a Rational project:
Procedure
- Start HCL OneTest UI.
- On the Start Page, on the Project tab,
click the Functional Test project you want to open.
- In the Rational Test Login dialog box, log in to a Rational project.
- In the Solution Explorer, right-click a Functional Test project
and click Associate with current Rational Project.
Note: If Associate with current Rational Project is
unavailable, create a Rational project and log in to the Rational project
before you associate a Functional Test project with the current Rational project. Associate
with current Rational Project is available only if you have administrative
privileges with the project.
HCL OneTest UI
adds the name of the Rational project that you associated with the Functional Test project to the name of the Functional Test project in the Solution
Explorer. For example, if you associate MyFTProject with
the MyRationalProject Rational project, it appears in the
Solution Explorer as: MyFTProject - MyRationalProject.
