Installing Agent in the silent mode on Linux

You can also install HCL OneTest™ Performance Agent on Linux by using the silent mode installation method.

Before you begin

You must have uninstalled any older version of this product.
You must have installed konsole on your computer. This is required to enable the short cut icon of the product after installation.
Note: You can install konsole by entering the following command in the terminal: apt-get install konsole
You must have installed OpenJDK 8 along with JVM OpenJ9. To download them, go to the AdoptOpenJDK portal.
You must have created the properties file that contains the inputs for the installer during the installation process.
Note: You must delete the installer.properties file generated from the previous installation if you are installing a newer version of the product.
If you want to install the HCL OneTest UI on Linux machine, the following libraries must be available on your machine.
- libstdc++.so.6
- libXp.so.6
- libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0
- libXtst.so.6
- libXt.so.6
- libstdc++.so.5
- libXft.so.2
- libXm.so.4

About this task

The system requirements mentioned in the HCL Support portal provides more information about the software and hardware requirements. The product installer does not support the following features:

Updates, modifications or rollback
Integration with Visual Studio for HCL OneTest UI

Procedure

Download the product installer from the HCL License & Delivery portal. You can download the appropriate product variant, version, and architecture based on your requirements.
Note: If you want to install both HCL OneTest UI and HCL OneTest Performance on your computer, you can install the products by using a single shell-shared HCL OneTest UI and Performance installer available in the HCL portal.
Log in as a root user.
Change to the directory where you have downloaded the zip file by entering the following command:
cd <directory path>
For example, cd ./root/Downloads/HCL-OneTest-<product-name>-Linux-x64-v10.0.2.bin_10.0.2.v20190111_0109
Extract the downloaded file by entering the following command:
unzip <zip file name>
unzip HCL-OneTest-<product-name>-Linux-x64-v10.0.2.bin_10.0.2.v20190307_0742.zip
Note: you must change the mode before installing the software. To change mode, enter the following command: chmod 755 HCL-OneTest-Performance-Agent-Linux-x64-v9.5.bin
Change the mode before initiating the installation process by entering the following command:
chmod 755 <installer name>
chmod 755 HCL-OneTest-<product-name>-Linux-x64-v10.0.2.bin
Initiate the product installation by entering the following command:
./"HCL-OneTest-<Product name>-Linux-x64-v9.5.bin" -i silent
Note: If the installation is terminated due to any reason, you must check the Installerror.txt to know more about the problem that occurred during the installation process. The error log is located at /<installation directory>/Logs

What to do next

You must enter the license key when you launch the product.
