Editing components
At any point in time, after you create a component, you can modify and update the details of the components such as the component type, and the relationships with other components.
Before you begin
Procedure
- Log in to HCL OneTest™ Server.

Click System Model.
The System Model page is displayed.

Click the component that you want to edit.
The component details are displayed in the right pane.

Complete the steps for the task that you want to perform as listed in the following table:
Task Action Change the component type - Click the Component type icon inline with the component name in the right pane.
The icon differs based on the component type such as Database , UI , and Service which you selected for the component.
- Select the component type.
Change the name, type, and parent of a component - Select a component.
The Edit icon is enabled.
- Click the Edit icon .
The Edit component dialog box is displayed.
- Edit the following details of the selected component, as required:
- Name
- Type
- Parent
- Click Modify.
Change the parent of one or more components - Select one or more components.
The Change parent icon is enabled.
- Click the Change parent icon .
The Change parent dialog box is displayed.
- Select another parent for the selected components from the Parent drop-down list.
- Click Change.
Add a child component Click the Add Child icon in the Children section to add a child component. Specify the components on which the selected component is dependent on - Click the Add dependency icon .
The Add dependency dialog box is displayed.
- Select the components in the Add dependency dialog box, and then click Add.
The added components are listed under the Depends on section.
Specify the components that are dependent on the selected component - Click the Add dependent icon .
The Add dependent dialog box is displayed.
- Select the components in the Add dependent dialog box, and then click Add.
The added components are listed under the Is a dependency of section.
- Click the Component type icon inline with the component name in the right pane.
