Controls in the dialog box
The following controls appear in the dialog box:
Control name | Control description |
---|---|
View Type: Web | Select this option to create a new Web view. This option is not active if you selected the ClearCase Local node as your ClearCase® server on the previous page. |
View Type: Dynamic | Select this option to create a new Dynamic view (only for Local Area Networks). This option is not active if you do not also have native ClearCase installed on your machine. |
View type: Automatic | Select this option to create an automatic view. |
View type: Snapshot | Select this option to create a snapshot view. |
View tag | Specify a view tag to serve as a unique, descriptive identifier for the view you are creating. The view tag must be unique within its network region. In the case of a web view, the View tag name is the same as the final subdirectory of the Copy area path name. If you edit this field, the Copy area path name directory also reflects the changes you make. To set this field to a name that is different from the copy area directory, you must edit the Copy area path name. |
View Options | Opens the View options dialog box in which you can specify a view text mode, which controls how line terminations are handled when text files are loaded into the view. |
Copy area path name | The full path name to the copy area. The copy area is a local directory into which resources under ClearCase control are loaded into the snapshot or web view, and from which you can add new resources to ClearCase. A default path is provided. To create the copy area in a different local directory, type the path name to that directory, or click Browse to navigate to a folder to use. Note that when you change the copy area, the View tag does not automatically reflect the change. This option is not active if the currently selected View Type is Dynamic. |
Browse | Opens a file system browser in which you can navigate to and select a folder to use for the copy area. |
Drive letter | You can use this option to map your new view to a Windows drive. This option is only available if the currently selected View Type is Dynamic or Automatic. For a dynamic view, the default drive is M:; for an automatic view, it is R:. |
Back | Returns to previous screen. |
Finish | Confirms your selections and creates the new view. Once the view is created, the Edit Configuation dialog box opens where you can edit the config spec. |
Cancel | Cancels the operation. |
