Administering
Run administration and maintenance tasks to keep your environment up-to-date. For example, learn how to customize your deployment or how to use the wsadmin utility to edit configuration files. You can also schedule tasks, maintain application databases, moderate content, or manage users and their roles.
Administering Bookmarks
You configure and administer Bookmarks using scripts accessed using the wsadmin client. Changes to Bookmarks configuration settings require a restart of the Bookmarks server before they take effect. Changes made using administrative commands take effect immediately.
Managing multiple Bookmark buttons
If you are creating bookmarks on more than one server, you may have to rename your Bookmarks browser buttons to avoid conflicts.

      You can change the default favicon for a Bookmarks deployment.

      Change the default directory for the favicon cache from the IBM® websphere Application Server (WAS) administrator console.
    - Denoting sites as intranets
      You can make changes to configuration settings to denote a Bookmarks site as an intranet. Changes to Bookmarks configuration settings require node synchronization and a restart of the Bookmarks server before they take effect.
    - Managing links
      As the Bookmarks administrator, you can remove broken or unwanted links, and configure what behavior is available to users for managing broken links.
    - Restrict link redirects
      You can restrict link redirects to allow users to directly access URLs. This is an optional configuration change.

Managing multiple Bookmark buttons

If you are creating bookmarks on more than one server, you may have to rename your Bookmarks browser buttons to avoid conflicts.

About this task

The Add Bookmark button is a browser add-on that you install from the Bookmarking Tools link in the page footer of the Bookmarks app. When you install an Add Bookmark button to your browser toolbar, it is associated with a particular server. If you want to create bookmarks for Bookmarks deployments on more than one server, you must install an Add Bookmark button for each server. You may find, however, that if you click ButtonA to create a bookmark on ServerA, then click ButtonB to create a bookmark on ServerB, you will create another bookmark for ServerA instead. If this happens, follow these steps to rename the second Add Bookmark button to a unique name.

Procedure

Right-click the button you want to rename.
Choose properties.
Enter a new name.
Click OK to save the button with the new name.
