Administering
Run administration and maintenance tasks to keep your environment up-to-date. For example, learn how to customize your deployment or how to use the wsadmin utility to edit configuration files. You can also schedule tasks, maintain application databases, moderate content, or manage users and their roles.
Administering Libraries
A Library provides the services of an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system to Communities. To enable the use of Libraries, you must make some configuration changes to Connections and to each ECM system that you plan to use.

      Knowledge of FileNet® concepts can help with extension and customization of your deployment. Connections Content Manager uses the FileNet P8 Platform to store and retrieve documents in libraries.

Enabling grid view for library files

Use ccmMediaView flag to enable grid view in Connections Content Manager libraries and linked libraries.

Procedure

Log in to the server where IBM® Connections is hosted.
Check out LotusConnections-config.xml. The file is stored by default in the following directory: Navigate to LotusConnections-config.xml.
- AIX®:/usr/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/profile_name/config/cells/cell_name/LotusConnections-config
- Linux™: /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/profile_name/config/cells/cell_name/LotusConnections-config
- Windows™: C:\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\profile_name\config\cells\cell_name\LotusConnections-config
Enable grid view by setting genericProperty name="ccmMediaView" to enabled.

Example:

Results

Thumbnail images are displayed in grid view in Library and Linked Library apps. However, in some instances thumbnail images do not appear for linked libraries. If a linked library is pointed to an external ECM server that is not configured with Connections in LotusConnections-config.xml, then users do not see thumbnail images.
