Target Devices for Geofencing Policies

Before applying geofencing policies, you need to select the devices that the policy should affect. Targeting ensures that only relevant devices receive the configured restrictions or app policies based on their location.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Device Targeting

    • Open WebUI → Policies → Geofencing.

    • Select the policy you want to assign to devices.

  2. Choose Devices or Groups

    • Individual Devices: Select one or more devices from the enrolled list.

    • Device Groups: If your devices are grouped (e.g., by department, role, or location), select the relevant group.

  3. Confirm Assignment

    • Review the selected devices to ensure accuracy.

    • Save the configuration to link the geofencing policy to the targeted devices.

  4. Effect of Geofencing

    • When a targeted device enters or exits a defined geofence zone, the assigned policies are automatically applied or removed.

Note: Smart Group Targeting Not Supported for Version 3.5.
  • Important: In version 3.5, geofencing policies cannot be assigned to smart groups.

  • Only static device groups or individual devices can be targeted.

  • Plan device grouping accordingly to ensure policies are applied correctly.
