Web Session Manager Configuration
The Remote Control Web Session Manager service is automatically installed alongside broker support to enable browser-based Remote Control sessions. Configuration is managed via the trc_wsm.properties file.
Change the Web Session Manager port
To change the Web Session Manager port from its default of 9080, update the wsm.port property in the Web Session Manager configuration and set the corresponding port in the Broker properties file. Ensure both components use the same port to maintain connectivity between the Broker and the Web Session Manager.

    When you start a managed session, you can configure the server to use an installed controller rather than using the Java™ Web Start method.     You can use the properties files in Remote Control to customize your environment, configure Microsoft Entra ID or LDAP, set debug options, and set controller and on-demand target properties. The files can be edited in the BigFix® Remote Control Server UI.

    Use properties to determine what type of information and how much is written to the broker, gateway, and target component log files.

Change the Web Session Manager port

To change the Web Session Manager port from its default of 9080, update the wsm.port property in the Web Session Manager configuration and set the corresponding port in the Broker properties file. Ensure both components use the same port to maintain connectivity between the Broker and the Web Session Manager.

By default, the Web Session Manager listens on port 9080, which is also the port used by the Broker to communicate with it.

To configure a different port, update the wsm.port property in the Web Session Manager property file and add the following property to the Broker properties file:

Replace <WebSessionManagerPort> with the same port number specified in the wsm.port property.

Note:

If the Web Session Manager listening port is changed, the corresponding port setting must be updated in both the Web Session Manager configuration and the Broker configuration. Both components must be configured to use the same port; otherwise, the Broker will be unable to connect to the Web Session Manager.
